Using the built in detailed monitoring tool in Steam Link I have the 2021 one that came out last week, and I am streaming at 1440p (using Nvidia DSR) with a Cat5e cable, it runs very smoothy, absolutely no macroblocking, artifacting, or stutter with 20MS response time. I am convinced the 2021 Apple TV is the best Steam Link device you can get.

Steam link hardware is easier to use, obviously and good for older/simplier tvs. is big enough and hangs on the opposing wall from the window.
